pro.cras.ti.na.tion

Well folks... 1 exam stands between me and the end of my spring semester. Evidence Exam @ 6pm, tomorrow night. So why am I blogging and not studying on my lunch break, you ask? The answer is because I am the world's biggest procrastinator. Sad, but true.

The truth is that I have the Federal Rules of Evidence pouring out of my ears and cannot stand to look at them for another second. But no worries, I will pull them back out again tonight when I get home from work. Until then though, I will immerse myself in the goings on at my full time office job, enjoy my delicious chai white tea (if you have never had it, you MUST try it), and day dream of my wishlist of things I want to do over break.

So in the spirit of procrastination I have decided to put my wish/to-do list in writing for your viewing pleasure!

  • Go see a movie! Yes, at an actual movie theater! And treat myself to popcorn and Milkduds :)
  • Maybe even watch a movie at home, on my couch.
  • Actually finish a book (fun reading, not caselaw).
  • DVR and watch the Royal Wedding!
  • Speaking of weddings, do some planning of my own wedding! This law school business has been distracting me from what I really want to be doing and that is wedding planning :)
  • Cook a meal. Perhaps the new shrimp scampi recipe I found today? I think so.
  • Get my hair cut (and dyed - my guilty pleasure:).
  • Log some serious beach time. I need some sunshine in my life.
  • Clean. Clean. And clean some more. My condo is a disaster!
  • Make some long overdue phone calls to my wonderful friends who think I have disappeared into a black hole.
  • Do nothing at all, in the company of Scott.
  • Blog.
  • Relax.
  • Sleep in.
  • Sleep.
That pretty much sums it up! And I swear you will not hear from me until after the completion of this semester. I swear.

what I'm loving...

Today I am Linking Up With Jamie at This Kind of Love for What I'm Loving Wednesday!
Here are a few things that I am loving on this lovely Wednesday....
  • I'm loving that there is less than a week of my spring semester of law school! The end is in sight and I just have to make it through next Tuesday night :)
  • I'm loving that I have finally found the perfect gift(s) for my bridesmaids (after months of looking)!!!! I would give you a sneak peek but I do not want any of them to see :) I ordered a sample of the gift last week for myself and adore it!!!
  • I'm loving that one of my best friends (who lives in Beantown) just got an amazing job offer (including a big bump in pay) in the Architecture field! She is amazing! Don't mess with the best is my motto!
  • I'm loving G chat. Enough said.
  • I'm loving that I get to pick up a sample tier of my desired wedding cake tomorrow night! Our (potential) baker is testing out a triangle shape cake for us to see if we like it! Mindy is so sweet and her cake is awesome!
  • I'm loving the inspiration (that I have the pleasure of wearing everyday) for our triangle shaped cake...
  • And last, but certainly not least, I'm loving Scott. I do not know how he puts up with me people! I really don't :) I hope he still wants to marry me after the wedding planning stage is complete!

Just another Wednesday in paradise ladies and gents! We are halfway to the weekend!!

A Beach Bridal Shower

My bridal shower was a few weeks ago, here in the Sunshine State, and it was fabulous! The party was hosted by my sister and mother. I have amazing friends and family (some of which were future in-laws:) who traveled from all over the country to share in the celebration and I would not have traded it for anything in the world! I could go on and on about it, but instead here are a few photos to tell the story for me ....
Me and my sister Rachel (my Matron of Honor who can throw one heck of a party).

Opening my very first string of real pearls EVER. And please note the Bride-To-Be sash, courtesy of G of course :)

All day people were sassing me about "breaking the ribbon." For the record, I did not break any of them :)

Seed Paper Favors!!! Love these!! Plant them and wildflowers will grow! http://www.botanicalpaperworks.com/

That balloon is a huge diamond ring :) It is still floating around my condo today! Love it.

Cupcakes from The Cupcake Spot in Tampa. They were delicious!

Everything was pink :) As it should be.

The view from our table.

A fan that I will definitely be using on my wedding day when it is hotter than the blazes in here Florida :) This is one of the many, many handmade gifts that Scott's mother brought me back from her last trip to the Philippines earlier this year. Beautiful.

My surprised face, of course!

The sun setting on our wonderful evening!
I owe a huge thank you to everyone involved in making the day a success! Words cannot express my gratitude!

That's all for now!

A bit about me....(finally).

Where do I even begin? Let's see...Though born and raised in Ohio, I am now a proud resident of the Sunshine State :) I hate the cold weather with a passion. I do crave the crisp autumn air a few days every year, but that is about all I miss about having 4 seasons. Thankfully, my fiancĂ© feels the same way about the cold. One of the many reasons we get along so well :) Speaking of fiancĂ©…I am getting married in August! That’s right-in a little over 4 months (which seems absolutely crazy to me! Where did 2010 go??) I will be a married woman. The poor guy’s name is Scott. I have tried to warn him about what he is getting himself into, but he does not seem phased. J He is quite remarkable. He was born in Atlanta, but grew up on the mission field with his family in the Philippines. He has an uncanny calming effect on me (which is no small feat as I have heard I can be a little tightly wound at times). He is also one of the kindest and MOST patient people I know. As much as we are looking forward to our nuptials, we are so looking forward to our honeymoon in St. Croix. Thinking about plopping myself on the beach with a frozen drink in my hand (with Scott, of course) is going to get me through the next 4 months or so!

Sometimes I feel like a professional student. After earning a Bachelor in Architecture, I took a year off and then started Law School! I am going to school part-time at night while working full-time during the day. Crazy, I know. Currently I am about half way through my legal education and cannot wait to finish (hopefully I will survive to see that day). I have a month left of my spring semester and am anxiously awaiting a much needed break in May before our summer semester starts. My classmates and I always get asked what type of law we want to practice. As of right now I would say Construction Law, but I am infamous for changing my mind. So only time will tell.

I have amazing family and friends all of the country (as does Scott), so we travel a lot! Luckily, we love to travel. And we will be doing quite a bit of traveling for the rest of this year. In addition to our own wedding, one or both of us are in 3 other weddings. A spring wedding in the panhandle of Florida, a fall wedding in Ohio and one very cold winter wedding in Beantown (Boston that is)!!! We are so excited!

Before I bore you all to tears, let me rattle off a few of my favorite things…
  • diet coke (especially from McDonald’s),
  • coffee (obviously),
  • Italy (my 2nd true love after Scott),
  • all Italian food and drink,
  • cannolis from Mike’s pastry in the North End of Boston,
  • red and white wine (I do not discriminate),
  • any and everything pink,
  • running (though I do not do it nearly enough),
  • shoes,
  • the beach,
  • cold Yuengling beer (I may or may frequent the Yuengling Brewery in Tampa),
  • skyscrapers (did you know that there is a skyscraper museum in NYC? well there is and you should visit:),
  • quality design and Architecture,
  • writing,
  • my sunroof,
  • 80s music (especially Journey),
  • and....well, I could go on and on. But I will spare you!

Stay tuned for pics from my magnificent beach bridal shower…to come soon!
